I hope this exhibition will offer an opportunity for self-reflection and newfound ways of understanding and connecting with those we encounter on the way through our lives.

“Art Connects”: Traveling Art Exhibition

Over the summer we were commissioned to curate an exhibition for Am Shalom Synagogue in Glenview entitled “Art Connects.” The exhibition was curated by former OTAN teaching artist Anni Holm and brings together the work of Chicago-area visual artists and features poetry and lyrics from our very own Adam Gottlieb, Ethan Parcell, Hera Shakir, Mojdeh Stoakley, and Nancy Kujawinski.

We chose “Art Connects” as our theme because we see at every event how art has the power to overcome barriers of race, culture and social constructs so that real connection can happen between young people. We want to celebrate that power of connection through this exhibit.

This exhibition is planning a tour through Chicago, with a touring schedule currently in the works. If you are interested in more information or in hosting this exhibition, please contact info@olivetreeartsnetwork.org. We’d love to hear from you!
